  • The Siglo XXI Medical Insurance Program, in coordination with the National Institute of Perinatology, has designed a strategy called "Viral Comprehensive Neonatal Support (AVIN)", which includes the use of non-invasive ventilation and the rational application of regulated oxygen to the premature committed.
  • This strategy includes the implementation of a training program for health personnel of the network of providers of SeSa, at national level, (Pediatricians, Neonatologists, Nurses), responsible for the prevention of ROP.
  • As part of the AViN strategy, the provision of systems for Continuous Positive application Airway Pressure (CPAP), with Blender and Humidification Cascade, is indispensable.
  • It is also contemplated to establish Regional Interdisciplinary Treatment Centers for ROP patients; as well as the evaluation of the impact that will allow demonstrating the effectiveness of the strategy, which will ultimately contribute to the reduction of visual disability.

  • It was considered to implement two pilot projects one in Celaya, Guanajuato, carried out every day June 21 and 22, as well as one more in the State of Mexico, to be held on the 30th of June and 1st. of July; to subsequently carry out the national launch of the strategy AVIN.
